Synthesis of ideas sounds like the creation of ideas, but in scientific and educational circles it means to gather information from different sources and put it together into a whole that is more meaningful than the sum of its parts. This is something that you will need to do in any scientific role whether you are a laboratory technician or a physician. This course is designed to (1) develop the student’s ability to synthesize information and provide the student with the dedicated time and opportunities to (2) investigate a biological problem s/he would like to explore, (3) review for the oral comprehensive exam, and (4) compose the written comprehensive exam with substantial feedback from Oxbridge tutors.
