This course continues study of basic piano skills, including familiarity with symbols and terminology, touches, pedaling, minor scales and arpeggios, sight-reading, harmonization, transposition, improvisation, and playing solo repertoire. It is the second in a four-semester sequence of keyboard skills classes that culminate in a piano proficiency evaluation to be completed at the end of the sophomore year. This course is required of all music majors and minors and is paced accordingly. It is also open to students in other disciplines.
