This course is designed to apply the psychodynamics of maladaptive behavior and to implement the nursing process for clients of various age groups exhibiting disturbances in behavior. This course includes concepts of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic communication, ethical/legal issues, mental health assessment, nursing roles, interdisciplinary roles and psychopharmacology. Includes clinical and simulation experiences.
Prerequisites: PSY 101, NUR 221, 232, 242, 250 and 320. Enrollment in NUR 412 requires simultaneous enrollment in NUR 412C (clinical).
