Introduction to stress-strain analysis of basic engineering materials subjected to axial, transverse shear, torsional, bending, and pressure loads. Combined stresses are emphasized and used to predict failure. Shear and moment diagrams, pressure vessels, beam deflections, and buckling of columns are also examined.
