How do humans influence each others' behavior, thoughts, and emotions? Why do we perceive--and misperceive--others as we do?  What factors lead us to be compassionate and helpful, or indifferent and rejecting? How do we make judgments about each other? How does our behavior differ in different kinds (or sizes) of groups?  Do our beliefs about the purpose of our lives and those of others influence everyday choices?  These are some of the questions we will consider during the term.

This course will introduce you to many of the techniques that we as psychological researchers use to arrive at our conclusions.  Moreover, you yourself will become a researcher, at least for this term.
