- Course designed for students involved in local and international service projects. Challenges students to consider their mindset and motivation for serving. Students will also acquaint themselves with the region they will be serving, and how their project contributes to community development.

A variety of strategies and resources are examined about helping people who experience heightened need and injustice.Special attention is given to various perspectives about service through the study of non-profit organizations (Habitat for Humanity), individual service models (Martin Luther King, Jr. and Dorothy Day and textbook author Robert Coles). Students are involved in group and individual service during the semester.
